Acorn Funeral Service was established to offer an alternative to the traditional funeral that everyone expected.It is operated by Phillip Harrison who started Acorn Funeral Service in 1997.Since then Phillip has been joined by Mark Wait who also understands the need to offer an alternative funeral.
Whether it is a simple,straight forward cremation that is requested or a woodland burial in one of the many specially designated woodland sites across the north east then Mark or Phillip can provide the guidance needed at this time.
We have also noticed that a humanist service is becoming more and more popular rather than the traditional religious service.The service focuses on the life of the person and includes music,poetry and readings by family and friends and for those who do have religious beliefs a period of quiet contemplation is made available during the service.
